EXISTENCE STUDENT MOVEMENT THE OLD ORDER ERA IN INDONESIA                                                                      (1962-1967)
 
Student movement became one of the social and political forces in society that will provide for the social control of government policy . Student movement emerged in 1962-1967 when there was political instability , economic decline and social . The purpose of this paper is to expose the student movement that overthrew Sukarno government . Issues to be discussed in this work is the underlying condition of Indonesian student movement of 1962-1967 , the existence of the student movement and the collapse of the Sukarno regime .

The method in this paper is a critical historical research method consists of four steps . The first is a heuristic , which collects good sources to examine relevant books , newspapers , as well as interviews with several parties . The second step is a critical resource in which the author examines the sources obtained both externally and internally in order to obtain data that can be accounted for . After the criticism of sources , the third stage of the analysis or interpretation of synthetic materials that have been obtained as a stage interpretation . The fourth stage is the historiography ( presentation ) , where in this section the author presents the results of the interpretation of the chronological and descriptive analysis in the form of historical work .
Based on the issues that were examined in this study concluded that the birth of the student movement of 1962-1967 , due to the economic downturn and government irregularities during the enactment of Guided Democracy . During the Guided Democracy , the political priorities for strengthening make President Sukarno . So that other areas of the government received less attention . Economic downturn causes hunger , social inequality and discrimination in public services between the rich and the poor . The existence of the student movement is divided into three ideologies , namely national , religious , and Communist . This ideological differences cause friction which leads to conflict . This adds to the conflict situation became increasingly chaotic movement . Students with raised national issues that demanded the dissolution of the Communist Party , the cabinet reshuffle , and economic improvement ( lower price ) which eventually became the draft in Tritura ( Three People's Demands ) . Them with the support of the military , especially the Army conducted a series of demonstrations to press President Soekarno to step down . Until the birth of the Decree of March 11 ( Supersemar ) which led to diminishing the role of President Soekarno in politics and began to be removed by Bearer Supersemar , Lt. Gen. Suharto . On March 12 , 1967, President Sukarno officially resigned as president . Instead, Lt. Gen. Soeharto appointed as acting interim president until the holding of elections .
